FIELD Fellowship

what is farmlink's
field fellowship
The greatest challenge of our generation is how we will feed 10 billion people in a rapidly changing climate. While Farmlink addresses this by redirecting surplus food from farms to food banks, solving this global issue will require countless other innovative solutions to create a sustainable and equitable food system. The FIELD fellowship catalyzes the next generation of ambitious leaders to develop these solutions during the program however the real impact of this program lies in what fellows go on to do.

Real-world impact

Who is this for?
We select a small cohort of outstanding students from diverse backgrounds who are motivated to create change in the food system. No experience in sustainability, food systems, etc is required. We prioritize action-oriented students who are motivaed to make the world a better place. Our program is designed for students pursuing an undergraduate degree, however, people who are one year out of college or are pursuing a graduate degree are welcome to apply. This internship is not open to high school students.
Stipend
Given the full time and in-person demands of Phase 2, The Farmlink Project offers a $6,000 living stipend and covers travel cost to and from immersion destination. If participating in FIELD for 10-15 hours a week would displace time you would spend working a paid job to support yourself or others, we offer a need based stipend. We want everyone regardless of their financial situation to be able to take advantage of all this fellowship has to offer. Please contact stella.delp@farmlinkproject.org with any questions.

The FIELD Tour
This summer, the FIELD fellows are working on the ground with farmers, food banks, food rescuers, climate startups, and community distributors across the country and abroad to learn by doing and collaborate on food system solutions. Farmlink's FIELD Fellowship Manager embarked on a journey in a camper van to see our fellows in action. During each site visit, she worked alongside the fellows, met with their partners, and engaged with the communities they are serving.
This tour is brought to life by the support of our partner, Planet Home Lending!
